Planning a First Mixed Load of Appliances for Uzbekistan

Core models are expected to deliver most of the sales and should receive higher carton quantities and priority for replenishment. Traffic-building models offer an accessible entry price. Margin models create a defensible price difference through material, capacity or functions. Test models explore a new use case and occupy only a controlled share of inventory.

These roles can extend across categories. Electric kettles may provide steady turnover, electric fans or evaporative air coolers may address seasonal demand, and humidifiers may test a defined use case. Every SKU should state its target channel, price tier and learning objective. A model whose role cannot be explained should not enter the first order simply to make the catalogue look broader.

First calculate the number of stores to be covered, the opening quantity for each store and the replenishment stock required at the warehouse. Only then decide carton quantities. Dividing the order equally according to a supplier’s packing unit can leave some models unable to cover the channel while others remain in stock for too long.

Treat colour as a separate inventory variable. Concentrating quantities in core colours and using smaller volumes for test colours reveals genuine preferences more clearly than allocating the same quantity to every option.

The cargo value per cubic metre differs widely across small appliances. Electric fans and evaporative air coolers use relatively large cartons, while electric kettles and similar products are more compact. Allocating budget only by purchase value may leave no space at the loading stage. Filling every available gap, on the other hand, can create excessive stock of slow-moving products.

The loading plan should list at least the SKU, carton count, carton dimensions, gross weight, total volume, total weight and cargo value. Estimated figures can be used while packaging is under development, but measured production data must replace them after approval. A change in units per carton or inner packaging also changes the overall mixed-load plan.

A mixed-container order can leave only when its final SKU is ready. When standard products, customised retail boxes and newly developed samples share one shipment, an unfinished new project may delay established products. The purchasing plan can set a common cut-off: test items that are not ready move to the next load, allowing core stock to leave on schedule.

Retail boxes, user manuals, rating labels and barcodes also need to be complete. Where categories use separate version-control systems, a single release sheet can record product completion, packaging completion, inspection approval and shipping-document readiness. This makes the item that is holding back the order visible.
